The University's faculties and schools handle most of the day-to-day administration relating to postgraduate research at QUT. Each faculty has a Postgraduate Administration Officer who has overall responsibility for research students in the Faculty. This staff member may be the Assistant Dean (Research), the Director of Research and Postgraduate Studies, the Chair of the Faculty Research Committee, or a similar role.
Research students University-wide can find out about matters such as PhD candidature, the Research Degrees Committee, grants and scholarships from Contact Us.
In the Postgraduate Research Studies area at QUT, the role of overseeing the area, monitoring and developing the standard of research supervision, providing pastoral care for students, monitoring the level of research infrastructure available to support postgraduate research students and integrating postgraduate research more fully into the research culture of the university, is undertaken by the Director of Postgraduate Research Studies.
